Ballard Spahr, one of the nation's largest law firms, has renewed their lease to keep their headquarters at the BNY Mellon Tower in the Penn Center Complex of
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The company will retain their current space at 1735 Market Street, which is approximately 179,000 square feet of the 54-story building. The landlord, Commonwealth REIT, owners of industrial and office complexes in 31 states, as well as Australia, was represented by the office of Newark Grubb Knight Frank. CBRE represented Ballard Spahr.
The pyramid-topped building is a landmark of sorts in the city of Philadelphia, and the lobby of the building was used in the 1993 film
Philadelphia, starring Tom Hanks. Other tenants include BNY Mellon, Sunoco and FMC, who enjoy the location of the building, which overlooks a major shopping location and winter gardens.
